Several units of the Guide Movement are attached to St. Mary's Church:-
... for girls age 5-7 years. Meetings are based on a theme, and include craft activities, songs, stories and games.
... for girls age 7-10 years. The girls learn life skills by working for badges, and on ventures and activities. They attend church parade regularly and there are several events throughout the year where the girls can mix with other units in the District and Division. The aim is to give the girls an enjoyable experience, while learning in a controlled and fun-filled way.
... for girls age 10 years and over, who get together regularly to do lots of exciting things, and have a good laugh. They make decisions, look out for themselves and others, while making great friends out of school.
In addition to Patrol-chosen activities, there are opportunities to join other Guide Units for such events as outdoor cooking, canoeing, life-saving, "Wet Weekend", fund-raising and camps. Service is an important part of the programme.
Being a Guide offers personal challenge and is a great preparation for adult life.
