A cause that has touched the hearts of many Woodbridge people is the Verna Health Clinic. It provides vital medical services and midwifery to one of the most impoverished areas of Kampala, Uganda and fund-raising events throughout Woodbridge have so far raised £5,500. This has helped with basic medical equipment and drugs, but the clinic desperately needs to complete its permanent building. Now the Illuminati Choir are stepping in to help with a fund-raising concert in St Mary’s Church on 27 November at 7.30 pm, with their eclectic range of madrigals, motets and folk songs, and interludes by concert pianist Rosemary Hawkins. Support Verna and enjoy an evening of wonderful music! Tickets: £10 (including wine and posh canapés) from St John’s Church Office (01394 383162) or Browsers Bookshop.
