Spiritual Life Prayer walks for spring and summer Tues 19 April 2011Holy Week walk Sudbourne to Orford This is a walk from All Saints Church at Sudbourne, via fields, and river wall and into Orford, where we will also visit St Bartholomew’s Church and return on the circular path to Sudbourne, stopping for refreshments in Orford. Meet at All Saints Church, 10.15 a.m. (4 miles). Wednesday 25th May 2011 – Evening walk by the Deben river Meet in St Mary’s churchyard at 6.15pm and we will make a circular walk along the river bank to Kyson Point via Kingston Meadows and returning to St Mary’s church. We will say Evening prayer together either at the start or finish of the walk. Tuesday 21st June 2011 – Midsummer walk Snape to Iken A round trip from Snape Maltings through the reed beds along the south bank of the Alde to the beautiful and ancient little church of St Botolph at Iken (pictured above), where we will say Morning Prayer. Meet in Snape Maltings car park at 10.15. Bring a picnic lunch. (5 miles). Monday 8th August 2011 – the Minsmere birthday walk At least two participants share this birthday, now an annual and popular event! It is a circular walk, embracing heath land, woods, water meadows, sand dunes and shingle. Lunch/refreshments will be taken midway at the Eels Foot pub in Eastbridge. Meet at the Coastguard cottages car park, Dunwich Heath at at 10.15. (5½ miles). All are welcome to join, walking in fellowship, enjoying the countryside and observing the local flora and fauna; praying and praising God for his Creation. Just add your name to the list at the back of St Mary’s church or telephone Michael Stagg on 387280. We share cars and offer lifts when needed.
