Spiritual Life Alive again St John’s Church will be hosting their fourth annual Alive Festival ‘Restoration’ from the 28th-30th May. The aim over the three days of the festival, is to provide encouragement for Christians of all ages, from East Anglia and beyond, renewed by the work of the Holy Spirit, to engage with mission in our local communities and networks. So with an emphasis on biblical teaching, added to contemporary worship, inspiring celebrations and practical seminars, Alive Festival is the place to be personally restored and refreshed. New speakers this year include Roy Crowne, Director of Hope Together, Jenny Taylor of Lapido Media, and John Clancey of Christians against Poverty. Returning to the festival will be The Right Rev Nigel Stock, Bishop of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich and David Bracewell, recently retired from St Saviour’s Guildford. David was a big hit last year with his unique blend of humour and biblical teaching. Booked for Alive Youth, the main speaker is Viz-a-Viz youth worker Richard Powney. Having turned away from faith as a teenager, he knows how vital it is to keep the message relevant and appealing. Freerunners and The Neals (and their puppets) are back with high-energy teaching for primary-aged children and pre-schoolers. For more information see the website, which will be regularly updated, plus the online booking form at www.alivefestival.org. Regular visits to the website over the next few months will keep you up to date with all the latest developments on events and speakers.
