Winter prayer walks
Winter prayer walks A prayer walk is a reflection of our walk along the spiritual path which we tread through life. We walk in company, in Christian love, and we are aware of God’s creation around us. And we praise, and pray to God. Several walks have been made this year – and more are planned for crisp and colder Winter days! We have walked together, at times in silence; but also talking together and getting to know each other – and we have stopped to pray to God and to thank Him for his gifts to us. Our walks through the peaceful Suffolk countryside are open to all. Prayer walks are gentle and undemanding, in caring company, and – we believe – walking with God. Our next planned walks are: A Prayer Walk for Remembrance Tuesday 11 November 2014 With the theme of Remembrance, this walk will take place on the exact centenary of the outbreak of World War I. It will be from Melton to Ufford, and will include a stop for lunch in Ufford at the White Lion, returning to Melton by a circular route. Jesus tells us, “Do this, in remembrance of me …” A Prayer Walk for Advent Tuesday 2 December 2014 To celebrate the start of Advent, we will walk in the Ramsholt area, a much-loved part of the Suffolk Heritage Coast, praying and conversing and discussing this time of Advent. We will stop at Ramsholt Church (pictured), and for those who want to join us, finish with lunch at the Ramsholt Arms. If you are interested in joining a future walk, please see notices in the St Mary’s weekly pew sheet, and on the display board at the back of St Mary’s Church. Or contact Michael Stagg (Tel: 387280) to find out more. ALL ARE WELCOME Michael and Margie Stagg
