20 Junior Outlook Chocolate Easter Nests Easy to make – and delicious as a special treat on Easter Day! Ingredients 225g (8oz) dark chocolate, broken into pieces 2tbsp golden syrup 50g (2oz) butter 75g (3oz) rice crispies (or cornflakes) 50g (2oz) sultanas 36 mini chocolate eggs Paper cases Let’s make a start • Place a paper case in each of the twelve spaces in a cake tin. • Break the chocolate into pieces. • Melt the chocolate, golden syrup and butter in a bowl set over a pan of gently simmering water (but don’t let the base of the bowl touch the water). Stir the mixture until smooth. • Remove the bowl from the heat and gently stir in the sultanas and rice crispies (or cornflakes) until completely coated in the chocolate. • Place a spoonful of the mixture in each of the paper cases, and press three mini-eggs into the centre of each ‘nest’. • Chill in the fridge for one hour, or until completely set.
