Have you ever used our Church Centre?
Have you ever used our Church Centre? Have you tried Poppy’s Pantry Café or the New Horizons Activity and Lunch Club? Are you into yoga or are you just trying to stretch those muscles as the years creep by? If any of these activities ring a bell, then you may well have sampled facilities at St Mary’s Church Centre. Flower arrangers, Brownies, bell-ringers, carpet-buyers and even occasional wine-tasters have all met in the Centre (also known as St Mary’s House) in recent weeks and the demand has continued to grow so much that we are balancing the need to cater for outside requests with that of looking after our core activities. While the Centre is hired by a number of non-church groups, it is also used extensively by the church for activities such as Sunday School, choir practice, Mothers’ Union and Parish Lunch. There are organisations that just use the Centre occasionally, those that meet there on a regular basis and, more recently, a number of fixed weekly bookings such as Poppy’s Pantry Café, open for snacks and lunch on Tuesdays, and Better Balance exercise classes for the elderly on Fridays. Other uses of the Centre to plug gaps in local provision are also under consideration. It is an ideal venue for children’s parties, social activities, business meetings and leisure groups. If you want to sell alcohol at an event, you need to have a licence, but a fully-equipped kitchen is available as part of a booking and the main hall is a light, bright and adaptable space. There are also some smaller rooms for hire and are suitable for different activities. Interested in booking a room?
