Just42 - Spotlight on our children’s work
7 Parish Pump Spotlight on our children’s work Our local charity Just42 is continuing to deliver a variety of exciting projects for children in and around Woodbridge. Our weekly term-time schedule is as hectic as ever, with its youth clubs and other initiatives. We currently run seven clubs a week in various primary schools in the Woodbridge area: Rendlesham, Wickham Market, Eyke, Kyson, the Sandlings and Bawdsey, ending the week back in Woodbridge at St Mary’s School. All these clubs follow a similar theme and include a Bible story, an interactive quiz, some catchy action songs, and maybe a craft. During the week our children’s worker, Ruth, meets over 100 children. The clubs are run with the support of a part-time worker and a few dedicated volunteers. Just42 also leads assemblies at different schools, where Ruth is a favourite with the children – they love her lively stories, ideas and challenges. Just42 also runs holiday clubs at Easter and during the summer holidays. Some children attend for many years, and when they have outgrown the clubs they join as helpers. Just42 will be running a holiday club at Kyson School during the Easter break (see details on our website: www.just42.org.uk). Nick: alternative photo on p.25 Can you help? We are always looking for new volunteers! Our clubs last for an hour or less, so it is rewarding and fun whilst not taking up too much of your time. We are particularly in need of more volunteers to help at the club in St Mary’s School, which is right on your doorstep. Find out more about our clubs or other aspects of Just42 on our website, or call the office on 01394 380992. Caroline Rutherford Charity Manager, Just42
