Activities galore!
For 2nd Woodbridge (St Mary’s) Guides, the second half of the summer term was marked by a variety of activities, including swimming, outdoor cooking, penny hike, tent pitching and an introduction to geocaching, which is like a GPS-enabled treasure hunt. Several members attended a tea party held by Girlguiding Seckford District Senior Section to celebrate their national centenary, while five older Guides were invited to the ‘Spectacular’ at Framlingham Castle, and enjoyed a town trail, afternoon tea, drama workshop, watching birds of prey and unusual animals, storytelling, photo ‘cartoons’, supper, birthday cake and live music! Eight of St Mary’s Guides joined the Brazil 2016 District Residential at Stoke Ash and had a great time building a gateway (pictured), using traditional knotting skills, as well enjoying several craft, food, camp and sports activities. Eight of them had a brilliant time camping with Framlingham Guides at the County Scouts’ and Guides’ Wet Weekend (water activities).
