Join us on Good Friday
Please come and join us on Good Friday as we walk together in St Mary’s Churchyard. Families will meet in the church porch at 10.00 a.m. on 14 April for a simple Good Friday Family Service. We will be outdoors if weather allows. This will be followed by Good Friday family activities in St Mary’s House at 10.30. There will be an opportunity to make an Easter garden, try your hand at making and baking bread in the Greek Orthodox tradition. We will also be making Easter cards and baskets. The session will end after refreshments at 11.30 a.m. Families and children of all ages welcome. Please let us know that you will be coming so that we can be ready to welcome you and have the right amount of supplies. Fortunately, chairs were provided for Westerners, so no sitting cross-legged on the floor! The Japanese people we met were always polite, welcoming and helpful and we were very impressed with the general cleanliness and efficiency of service. The legendary ‘Bullet Train’ was a model of punctuality and comfort. Anne Wright Samuel (pictured) shows off his handiwork at St Mary’s Christingle Service
