Ready with the tea-pot at St Mary’s Fete, which raised £455 this summer Enjoying a chat after morning service Rainbows and Sunday School members baked a cake in church on Mothering Sunday A member of our dedicated flower team Clergy in cross-stitch: Barbara Cole created this cross-stitch portrait of the Revd Paul Hambling, former St Mary’s curate, now Rector of Melton (pictured), using a pattern based on a photograph of Paul, taken by Janice Poulson. Barbara began with a blank canvas, then counted each stitch, and with just two threads on her needle she ‘painted’ the portrait. Barbara had earlier presented our Rector, Canon Kevan McCormack, with his own cross-stich portrait to mark his appointment as a Chaplain to HM The Queen.
