Junior Church
It has been a fun and busy few months with Junior Church at St Mary’s. As you can see from the photographs, our younger Church members have been enjoying themselves making doves (pictured right) and celebrating the retelling of Bible stories about the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove at Jesus’s baptism. When our Bishop visited St Mary’s recently, Junior Church had been studying the first verse of the Lord’s Prayer that week. There were many different interpretations given in the answers that the Bishop heard from the children! Easter activities On Good Friday there will be a simple Family and Children’s Service in St Mary’s Church, starting at 9.30 am. This will be followed by Easter activities in St Mary’s House, finishing by 11.30 am. All are welcome, and if you plan to come along it is very helpful if you email us so that we are prepared for everyone (replies to virginia@sprayfamily.co.uk). All children must be accompanied by an adult. Experience Spring A new departure for St Mary’s is the development of a Prayer Week to take place in St Mary’s Church, starting the week after Easter. The theme is ‘Experience Spring’. Pupils from St Mary’s School will be invited and guided round a series of Prayer Stations based on these themes. The church will be open to members of the public, invited groups and all local residents for this event. Look out for more details on posters near St Mary’s Church in the lead up to Easter.
