Stamps please! and much more from the MU

Help really can come from above and at our September Mothers Union meeting we had an interesting talk from Giles Andrews of East Anglian Air Ambulance. It inspired members to plan further support for the EAAA by collecting used postage stamps. If you want to help, please give your used stamps to any MU member or leave them at St Mary's Shop, clearly marked 'Air Ambulance'.

The weather forecast may have been abysmal, but the sun really did shine on the righteous on 4th July for the Mothers Union Deanery Outing to Sandringham. During our four-hour visit there wasnt a drop of rain.

The project of knitting teddies for the paramedics is over for now: MU members in the diocese have knitted more than 300 (!) which are being shared between Cambridgeshire, Essex and Norfolk.

We were delighted with the attendance at the Wave of Prayer Service on 26th July and pleased to welcome the Diocesan President, Catherine Prophet, together with MU members from Woodbridge Deanery and visitors from St. Thomas's, St. John's and the Methodist Church.

We were sad to hear that Vera Leeds had died on 4th September. She had been a loyal MU member for 33 years, the last eight at St Mary's, and we will miss her very much. Congratulations to Elsie Hodgkinson who celebrated her 90th birthday on 14th September. She has belonged to the MU for 63 years!
