Waiting for lunch! Some visitors from St Matthew’s Church, Harlesden who joined St Mary’s for a special Harvest Lunch. The buffet menu included cold meats, salad and succulent trifle, washed down with wine and soft drinks.
Humour, insight and a still razor-sharp memory were all very much in evidence when the Rt Revd John Waine recently visited St Mary’s to launch our new series The Monday Talks. His hour-long session on Confirmation kept the audience interested and ready with a spate of questions. Who could have predicted our curate Paul standing up at the end to announce that he himself had been confirmed by John Waine!
The talks, which continue on 12th November with Revd Kevan McCormack on "Out of the Box", are partly a response to the desire expressed in the Parish Questionnaire for greater insight into various spiritual and ethical issues. These Informal sessions aim to help our spiritual growth as Christians and supplement the Emmaus course starting in November.
Leaflets with full details are available at the back of the church and on our website. We hope that at least one, if not several topics, will encourage you to come and support this new venture.
