Snape and Iken Walk
Friday 24 July
Tides permitting, we will leave the historic Snape Maltings mid-morning for a 5 mile round trip through the reed beds along the south bank of the river Alde to the beautiful and ancient little church of St Botolph at Iken. Here we will spend a quiet time and say Morning Prayer together, and then retrace our footsteps, sharing a picnic lunch at the picnic site along our route.
Saturday 8 August
Birthday walk now an annual and popular event, with at least two regular walkers sharing the birthday this circular walk of about 5 miles embraces heathland, woods, water meadows and shingle. We shall look for the inevitable marsh harriers, the aristocratic avocets and the late summer flora. Lunch and libation midway at the Eels Foot pub in Eastbridge. This is a familiar but interesting walk in all seasons.
Fynn Valley Walk
Thursday 27 August
A short morning walk (3 miles) quite close to home! We will be making frequent stops for prayers and readings. We will gather near the Red Lion pub, Martlesham Street and follow part of the Fynn Valley Walk, crossing the River Fynn and touching Little Bealings and Great Bealings.
