Fun on a Friday

The Friday Group for 9-14 year olds is going from strength to strength, meeting every other Friday in term time in St Marys House. We enjoy fun games and learning about different themes in the Bible, through fun.

This term we learnt a story from the Bible with the help of wheelie-bin drumming which was a great laugh for all concerned. We have had an outing to the bowling alley and hope to have a trip to Bury St Edmunds in the summer. Other planned activities include a barbeque on 24 July to end this term before we start again in September.

If you would like to come and join a friendly and lively bunch of people, please contact me (Tel: 446051) for more details.

Universal Childrens Day 2009

Universal Childrens Day, initiated by a United Nations resolution in 1954, takes place annually on 20 November. To mark the occasion this year, and as part of the International Year of the Child 2009, schools in our diocese will create giant cribs for a huge Advent celebration (may interest The Guinness Book of Records!) To be on show first of all in some of the larger churches, the cribs will then be returned to the schools for their Christmas celebrations, but will be back on display in the churches over Christmastide.
