Choir

The Choir is a group of committed people of all ages. We are often supplemented by ex-choristers, who have moved away but return from time to time. We enjoy singing together and lead the worship at regular services of the church. We particularly enjoy learning challenging music for special festivals such as Christmas and Easter.

We regularly sing anthems in the Sunday morning Eucharist service and Introits, Anthems, Evensong settings of the Canticles and Vespers at Evensong services on a broadly monthly basis and on major church festivals. We also sing at weddings and funeral/memorial services when requested to do so.

Our repertoire spans the centuries from baroque to the present day. It is customary to sing Mozart's Missa Brevis, Mozart’s Coronation Mass or other substantial settings of the Mass at Easter services. We are affiliated to the Royal School of Church Music.

Meetings:

We practise on Thursday evenings: 6.30 - 8.00 p.m. (School age members for the first 45 minutes depending upon age and homework commitments.) We also have a pre-service practice every Sunday at 9.30 a.m. before singing for the Parish Eucharist.
