Those of us who were able to make the journey from Woodbridge St Mary’s to Great Bealings St Mary’s set off independently at various times on New Year’s Day. Several walkers started their journey from the porch - including some who delayed their departure so they could hear the bells ring out at midday.
Some arrived at their destination in time to hear the Great Bealings bells being rung at midday, others were near enough to hear the bells beckoning them from across the fields.
We socially distanced ourselves in the churchyard for a brief respite to reflect on why we were there, before returning home.
The route home varied. The bravest walkers followed a beautifully scenic route regularly used in the past by a local former marathon runner as his training ground. Photos of the walk can be found on the About Us webpage HERE
